We got to see a serene and peaceful lake in Estonia, which is very green and picturesque, a real gem. We would definitely recommend to visit this place, if you are spending your vacation in Estonia. Let us get in more details here…
How we went?
We used the Bolt car rental company's Bolt Drive option to get to Äntu Sinijärv which is 126km away from Tallinn took about 1 hour 28 mins.
There are alternate options by using Public transport , it might take a bit longer time, but still it is possible.
The Experience
Äntu Sinijärv is more than just a lake, it’s a hidden jewel of Estonia, offering crystal-clear waters, diverse plant life, and an unmatched sense of serenity. Whether you’re seeking a quiet retreat into nature, an inspiring location for photography, or a place to fish and swim in peace, this lake is a destination worth discovering.
The lake is located within the Äntu Landscape Protection Area, a region safeguarded to preserve its pristine nature and unique biodiversity. Visitors are encouraged to explore the surrounding forests and meadows while respecting the delicate ecosystem that makes this place so special.
For fishing lovers, the lake offers a fruitful fishing experience. The lake is teeming with perch, roach, and pike, though perch is the most abundant species.
The lake’s bottom is carpeted with lime deposits, providing a rich environment for various types of vegetation. Pine algae, reminiscent of coral reefs, thrive here alongside water moss and spruce grass, creating a lush underwater landscape.
This is a refreshing article about Estonia, which is often centred around things to do in Talinn. Äntu Sinijärv, a day trip from Talinn sounds fab and certainly an option I’ll consider. The sereneness of the lake and its surrounds makes for great photography.

This lake is so beautiful! It reminds me of Grassi Lakes in Alberta Canada. Are there any hiking trails in the area?
